Peacock Butterfly, Jabłonka (Nowy Targ County), Poland, September 2018

Currently the weather in Poland is perfect, because it is still warm (about 23°C) and with a lot of sunshine. However, you can feel in the air that fall will come soon. While having a walk, my husband and I noticed the peacock butterfly, a butterfly that I remember from my childhood. Peacock butterfly (rusałka pawik, Inachis io) can be found in Europe and Asia. The name of this beautiful butterfly originates from the eyespots (on the wings), that serve as a protection against predators.
