Cherry trees (Sakura) in Central Park, NYC, USA, April 15, 18

Last Friday and Saturday it was really warm in NYC: about 80°F/26°C, and many pedestrians were wearing summer clothes! but I had to work so I could not enjoy nice weather. In contrast, today it was cold (about 38°F/3°C), rainy and windy; however, my husband and I were not discouraged by such a weather and we took a Sunday walk in Central Park :-) Both of us love Central Park!

Myself enjoying spring in Central Park ;)

A cup of delicious coffee for a windy day ;) And then continuing a Sunday walk in Central Park ;)

Cherry Blossom in Central Park

Did you know that more than 100 years ago (more specifically in 1912) cherry trees, that were planted in Central Park, were a present from Japan? ;)

Cherry trees around the Tidal Basin in Washington D. C. were also a gift from Japan, and each year the National Cherry Blossom Festival takes place there ;) Previously, I photographed cherry blossom in D. C: http://apastula.blogspot.com/2016/04/washington-dcs-cherry-blossoms3042016.html (2016) and http://apastula.blogspot.com/2017/04/spring-in-washington-dc-april-2014.html (2017).
