Shakespeare Garden is located on the west side between 79th and 80th Streets. The garden was established in 1913. The garden contains plants described in Shakespeare’s work and it is really a lovely place, especially during the springtime.

Raccoon (Procyon lotor) in Central Park, New York City, USA, March 2018
We were so lucky to see a raccoon in the daytime! :-) He was moving very slowly, like he would just wake up ;)
Interestingly, raccoons do not hibernate in winter, but rather sleep
for some time, up to a month, and then wake up to find some food, in
biology this is known as torpor.

Purple crocus, early spring in Central Park, NYC, USA, March 5, 18
My husband and I have lived in NYC for less than one year. Central Park is our the most favorite place in NYC. We were so lucky to find an apartment that is located very close to Central Park West! In NYC the four seasons can be distinguished, the same as in Poland, our home country. Although, I have to admit that generally winter is very mild here when compared to Poland.
Today we observed very first purple crocuses in Central Park and I would to share with you what we have found ;)
