Portuguese Man-of-War, Miami Beach, Florida, USA_Feb. 2018

On Saturday my husband and I arrived to Miami. Did you know that Miami is the only major American city that was founded by a woman? ;) 

We are spending a couple of days on Miami Beach. Yesterday we were walking along the beach after the sunset and we found eight blue, jellyfish-like animals known as Portuguese man of war (Physalia physalis, żeglarz portugalski). Interestingly, they were moving while lying on the sand! If you ever see Portuguese man of war, do not touch it! It can sting you, which can be very painful.
